Enhanced the Hypoglycemic Effects of Coprinus comatus by Supplying the Leaf of Morus alba L Adding to Cultural Substrate
Diet controlling and medicine cure are two kinds of important approaches to control the mortality of diabetes.Edible and medical fungi are important sources of diet and medicine used for curing diabetes mellitus.Supplying traditional medicine to cultural substrate is the strategy to enhance bioactivity of the fruit of medical fungi In the study, body weight, the serum glucose, lipid, insulin level and oxidant press and activity of some enzyme of liver involved in the glucose metabolism were used as indexes to evaluate the hypoglycemic activity of Coprinus comatuss fruit cultured in the substrate supplied the leaf of Morus alba L (FM) using alloxan induced diabetic mice. After administrated drugs for 16 days,in contrast with the fruit of C.comatus cultured in the substrate without leaf ofM.alba (F),FM significantly decrease blood glucose, fructosamine, total cholesterol and total triglyceride level and liver malondialdehyde content, and evidently increase the serum insulin level, glutathione content and activities of super oxide dismutase, hexokinase, malatedehydrogenase, pyruvate dehydrogenase in liver. These results proved that the leaf of M.alba supplied to substrate could swell the anti-diabetes millitus effect of the fruit of C.comatus.
