Biological Activities of Mushroom Lectins and Polysaccharides

　　Mushroom lectins and polysaccharides from Tricholoma mongolicum,Lentinus edodes,Pleurotus ostreatus,Agrocybe cylindracea,Pleurotus tuber-regium,Polyporus adusta,Xerocomus spadiceus,Schizophyllum commune,Peziza sylvestris,Armillaria luteo-virens,Xylaria hypoxylon,Boletus edulis,Pleurotus citrinopileatus,Inocybe umbrinella,Cordyceps militaris,Lactarius flavidulus,Paxillus involutus,Coriolus versicolor and Photiota adiposa were purified and charaeterized.The biological activities of the lectins were determined.Some of them possessed antiproliferative activity against tumor cells in vitro.Several lectins were immunomodulatory substances rather than substances exerting direct cytotoxicity.TML-1,a lectin from Tricholoma mongolicum,produced a potent,sustained hypotensive effect in normotensive rats.
