Morphological, Molecular and Chemical Characterization of a Mexican Wild Strain Belonging to the Ganoderma Genus

　　The fungi belonging to the genus Ganoderma have been used since ancient times in Eastern traditional medicine in the treatment and prevention of several diseases such as cancer,hypertension and diabetes,among many other conditions,due its potential production of bioactive metabolites.The authors discuss the morphological and molecular analyzes and focus on the chemical study of a specimen of the genus Ganoderma isolated in the state of Veracruz (Mexico).
