Innovative design of mechanical products based on VE/TRIZ

  To realize the design of mechanical products, a new process model of product improvement and innovation was proposed based on Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) and Value Engineering (VE).The analysis phase, the design phase and the evaluation phase were included in this model.The analysis phase was the key to the whole framework.Functional Analysis System Technology (FAST) and component-based functional analysis were the two commonly used methods of system analysis.Problems were exposed by analyzing the system.Then TRIZ theory problem-solving tools could be used to propose innovative solutions.Finally, the solutions function and cost need to be evaluated.As a case study, an innovative design of glue-spray device was achieved by application of the proposed framework.
