Research into Compressive Mechanical Properties of Special Piezomagnetic Material Sheets

  The compressive stress-strain relations of a special kind of piezomagnetic material samples with sheets of different layer numbers were researched by using both macro mechanical experiments and FEM simulations.Through the numerical simulation based on experimental data,the strain energy density function of a single layer piezomagnetic material sheet with thickness of 0.2mm quantity degree was obtained and the approximate compressible foam properties of the sheet were confirmed.From the experiments and simulations it is reached that the compressive stress-strain curve of a sample consists of a quasi linear segment which is of sufficient long length and small nonlinearity and satisfies the basic requirements of taking the piezomagnetic material sheet as the sensing element of a sensor.Moreover,the changes of the quasi elastic modulus of the quasi linear segment of a sheet sample with various layers with the sheets thickness and the layer-number were obtained.The result is useful for design,calibration and application of interlayer pressure sensors.
