FUNGICIDES FOR TURF DISEASE CONTROL

　　The synthesis and development of modern fungicides have spawned a heightened appreciation for how and why antifungal compounds work.The breadth and depth of our knowledge has progressed beyond basic efficacy and spectrum of activity,to a more granular understanding of fungicide interactions with plants and pathogens,and how environmental and management factors affect their performance.The end user benefits from an increased awareness of mode of action,resistance,phytomobility,as well as the influence of disease pressure and fungicide depletion on their capacity to avoid or mitigate turf damage.The trend is towards a more informed approach to selecting fungicides and scheduling their application.This review examines the state of our knowledge of fungicides used on turf and features selected research that contributes to more effective and efficient turf disease control.
