Study on Stemming Length of the Top of Blast Hole by ANSYS/LS-DYNA

  By the research of blasting effect and influence distance to worked-out section,combined with the mechanics target of upside rock of worked-out section and the thickness of security roof,blasting mechanism theory of worked-out section,we use the numerical simulation software LS-DYNA to analyze the blasting effect of Wujiata open-pit coal mine on the area of blast hole stemming length.We obtained the tamping length of shot hole top which achieved the optimal blasting effect.When the step height is 12 m,the shot hole top tamping length selecting among 4 ~5 m is quite reasonable.When the step height is 24 m,the shot hole top tamping length selecting among 7 ~ 8 m is quite reasonable.It has provided the scientific basis for safe mining of Wujiata worked-out section,and has similar situation to provide the reference value for other strip mines.
