Optimization and Characteristic Analysis of 2- dof Direct Drive Induction Motor

  This paper presents a two degree of freedom (2-dof) direct drive motor with new structure,which is mainly composed of AC armatures and a solid mover; its forms of motion contain pure linear motion,pure rotary motion and the composite motion,helical motion.Traditional analytical method is adopted to design the motor initially,and then the FEM software is used to model and simulate the motor to adjust parameters so as to optimize the motor.The simulation results indicate that the motor has better performance when the rotor steel is put in the outer layer and the copper layer is of specific thickness.And simulations of performance of the linear component and the rotary component under the condition of blockage and increasing load sharply are made; the results indicate that the proposed motor can meet the requirements.
