Performance Analysis and Comparison of Fractional-slot Concentrated Windings PMLS Motors for Ropeless Elevator
Permanent-magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSM) with Fractional-slot Concentrated Windings (FSCW) are increasingly preferred in the ropeless elevator because of their high force density, low thrust ripple, short end windings and low copper losses. In this paper, variable network non-linear magnetic equivalent circuit (VNMEC) model of PMLSM is established to predict the performance of thrust density and detent force.Different pole-slot combinations of PMLSM with Fractional-slot Concentrated Windings for long-stroke applications are discussed to choose best driver scheme. Finally,we carry out a timestepping finite-element analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the machine models.
