Dynamic Analysis of an Electromagnetic Actuator for a Magnetic Contactor

  The conventional solenoid type magnetic contactor has a problem with high power consumption,caused by exciting current continuously while maintaining the closed state.To address this problem,we suggest energy saving MC furnished with the permanent magnet and the inter-locking system.The suggested model can solve heat,noise,and unintended operation problems.Furthermore,the guiding structure mitigates shaking of the moving part so that the life time of the contacts is increased.To analyze the dynamic characteristics of the contactor,circuit equations and motion equations are calculated step by step,considering the coupled motion of the actuator and the inter-locking system.The validity of method has been verified by the experiment.
