The Investigation of 3D Temperature Field Numerical Simulation in Hot Forming of High Strength Steel
The temperature field distribution simulation of hot forming has important significance in forming mechanism and numerical formability prediction in hot forming process based on thermal-mechanical-phase transformation coupled law.The classical coupled heat transfer model for contact interfaces temperature boundaries between blank and tools is introduced into the simulation process, according to material constitutive model,thermal-mechanical-phase transformation couple law and static explicit finite element equations. The KMAS_HF program (King-Mesh Analysis System-Hot Forming module) is developed, which considers the transformation multi-field coupled complex features. In terms of combining general shell finite element and 3D tetrahedral finite element analysis method related to temperature,a coupled heat transfer model for contact interfaces to predict the temperature distribution fields is introduced in this paper. It also focus on the phase transformation latent heat analysis of temperature field in the forming process.Good agreement comparison between numerical simulation and experimental results of U-shaped blank and tools show validity of the present coupled model, including die, punch and blank temperature distribution, equivalent stress, and fraction of martensite simulation. It also provide important references for optimization in cooling system of hot forming tool design.
