A combined continuum and statistical mechanics model on semiflexible tubular polymers
In this study,we propose a model to describe the mechanical behaviors and material properties of semiflexible polymers with tube-like structures,i.e.,the so-called tubular polymers,by combining an orthotropic thin shell model in continuum mechanics and the wormlike chain model for semiflexible polymers.Based on this model,we derive a closed-form solution for the deformationmode-and contour-length-dependent persistence length of the tubular polymers.
