Boundary Fractures and Indentation Tests

　　The paper presents an evaluation of the factors influencing fracture initiation at the boundary of a rigid test plate that are used to estimate the in-situ deformability characteristics of a geologic medium.The paper outlines the techniques that are used to perform in situ plate load tests and focuses on the problem of boundary fracture generation at the edges of the geologic medium.
