Creep-fatigue crack growth prediction in a gas turbine casing
GE-F9 turbines, encounter some problems including fatigue and creep. Because of the casing conditions, temperature changes during turbine working cycles specified as the main reason for cracks. This paper attempts to predict the total life of the detected crack on the outer side of a GE-F9 gas turbine casing, according to the fatigue and creep phenomena. The crack position and direction was determined using non-destructive tests.
