Penetration simulation of concrete targets by explosive-charged projectile for analyzing thermal-mechanical damage in explosives

A large number of studies concerned with the penetration of projectile into concrete target usually focus on the residual velocity of projectile, depth of penetration and nose shape effects on penetration resistance. Till now, there are few open literatures on explosive-charged projectile penetration into concrete targets. Explosives filled in projectile are subjected to inertial impaction, intense extrusion pressure and friction. Explosion earlier than the preset point may be induced by localized high temperature rises or damage in explosive materials.
