Identification of female pelvic muscles elastic moduli in vivo by inverse analysis
The finite element method (FEM) is a powerful and economical tool for simulating the behavior of pelvic floor muscles (PFM), which plays an important role in supporting the pelvic organs. Conventionally, material parameters required in numerical simulations are from in vitro mechanical tests which differ from those in physiological state, thus hurt the simulations reliability.
