Blast experiment on asymmetric metal hexagonal honeycomb sandwich plates
Hexagonal honeycomb sandwich plates have been used in many engineering applications, such as the satellite, the missile, the fighter and the warship, to reduce the weight and improve the loadcarrying capacity of structures. In general, the thickness of front and rear face sheets of sandwich structure doesnot equal but the honeycomb core is identical. In this paper, experiments on the dynamic response of asymmetric hexagonal honeycomb sandwich plates made from aluminum subjected to blast loadings are performed.
