Low velocity impact behavior of aluminum and glass-fiber honeycomb structure
In this study, impact behaviors of aluminum and glass-fiber honeycomb structure materials are investigated under a low-velocity impact. Compression test is carried out to investigate the compressive strength of the specimens. The degree of damage was observed by using microscopy and compared with the experimental data. The maximum load capacity, impact strength, and elastic energy of glass-fiber honeycomb sandwich panels are higher than those of the aluminum honeycomb sandwich panels.
