GROUND BEHAVIOUR DUE TO ADVANCEMENT OF STEEL PIPES OF THE PIPE LINING TUNNEL WORK
Three dimensional ground displacements during the pile lining construction work were measured in the field in order to investigate the effect of the construction processes on the ground responses. In the pile lining method,a steel pile is driven forward by applying mechanical jack forces and excavating the soil in front of the pile. The ground displacement was mainly caused by these pile lining operations.Three dimensional FEM analyses were conducted to simulate the processes of the pile lining construction work and the numerical results were compared with the field measurements.
