GROUND BEHAVIOUR CAUSED BY VERTICAL TILT OF THE MECHANICAL TUNNELLING MACHINE
During mechanized tunnelling operations, the magnitude and distribution of the ground deformations are largely controlled by the construction process. The factors that affect the ground deformation are closely linked to the interaction between the soil and tunnel boring machine, which cause the stress state of the soil to change. In this study, the ground behaviour during advance processes of the tunnel boring machine are investigated by the basic experimental tests and numerical analyses,so that the effect of vertical tilt of the tunnel boring machine on ground displacement can be examined.
