DEFORMATION MONITORING IN CLOSE OVERLAPPED TUNNELS
As more underground space is exploited in urban areas, close overlapped tunnels has become widely used. The interaction between these tunnels is deeply investigated by many researchers. In this paper,a region in Line 5 of Shenzhen Metro, where a double-arch tunnel was constructed above underlying parallel tunnels, was continuously monitored. In the process of monitoring, vault settlement, sidewall convergence and surface deformation were measured.Based on the measured data, deformation laws were discussed and pre-grouting,pre-reinforcement and sufficient radial grouting help to decrease deformation. This is a valuable case for evaluating the interaction effect between close overlapped tunnels to guide design and construction under similar conditions.
