INFLUENCE OF LOADING FREQUENCY ON CONTACT PERFORMANCE BETWEEN SILT AND STRUCTURE
It is well known that Soil and Structure Interaction (SSI) is very important to study the dynamic response of underground structure, where the description of contact performance between soil and structure is a key problem. Now,there have been many research fruits on the aspect, but the literature about the influence of loading frequency on contact performance between soil and structure is few. So,Using the Suspensory Ring Test Apparatus designed by the authors, some tests have been carried out in order to study this problem. The test soil is clay silt with fine sand, whose physical properties are that ρ =1.59g/cm3,ω =14.39%,ωp =14.26%,ωL =21.77%,and the test structure is a smooth plain concrete plate. In this paper, the test results are analyzed, and some conclusions are gained.Firstly, destroy of silt-structure system is found in the silt-structure interface.Secondly, contact performance between the silt and the structure is different with different loading frequency. Finally, progressive failure of the silt-structure interface is described, and an experiential formula is proposed.
