PREDICTION OF MULTI-DIMENSIONAL CONSOLIDATION BEHAVIOR BASED ON THE OBSERVED VALUES
Inverse analyses can be used to identify the in situ parameters of the ground from observed behavior. The identified parameters are effective for accurately predicting future deformations. In this study,an inverse analysis method for the prediction of multi-dimensional deformations is discussed.Induced anisotropy and nonlinearity due to shear behavior are introduced into the method.Furthermore, the hardening of the material and the reduction of the permeability due to consolidation are simultaneously considered using statistical models for the soil parameters. To verify the availability of the proposed method, the results of two-dimensional consolidation tests are analyzed. It has been clarified that the lateral displacements can be predicted well by use of proposed method.
