LONG-TERM BEHAVIOR OF METRO TUNNEL IN THE SOFT DEPOSIT OF SHANGHAI

　　In order to investigate the long-term behavior of the metro tunnel in Shanghai,a large amount of field data is collected.It is observed that the shield tunnels in Shanghai have suffered serious post-construction settlement and substantial differential settlement.The settlement was very fast in the previous three years with a speed of 30 ~ 50mm in maximum,and then the speed slowed down.Besides,settlement of the tunnel has resulted in serious leakage of groundwater,which concentrated principally in the area of 30 ~ 50m from the working well or 20m from the connection passage.Causes of tunnel settlements are also discussed in this paper,including land subsidence,leakage of groundwater,dynamic response of train,nearby constructions,etc.
