FIELD VALIDATION OF TILT SENSOR FOR SIMPLE SLOPE MONITORING AND EARLY WARNING OF LANDSLIDE DISASTER

  Monitoring and early warning is one of the most effective methods toward reduction of disasters induced by landslides and slopefailures,but the traditional methods such as extensometers and multi-layer inclinometers are expensive and cannot be used to zoning monitoring when exact location of an unstable soil mass is not defined.The authors have proposed an early warning system for slope disasters,as one of more feasible countermeasures for slope disasters.The system including developed equipments has been deployed in several actual slopes for validation of field performance in Japan and China recently.
