Emerging diseases are new infections resulting from the evolution or change of an existing pathogen or parasite resulting in a change of host range,vector,pathogenicity or strain,Prominent examples are the influenza epidemics in the last 10 years: H5NI.HINl,and brand new.the Avian Influenza H7N9,but also not to forget HIV,SARS and the Schmallenberg virus.They have verv often an animal origin and almost all of them have zoonotic potential.
