Impact of Biological Stress Factors on Broiler Health and Production Performance

320 0ne-day-old healthy AA (Arbor Acres)hroilers were divided randomly into the test/control groups to assess the impact of hiological stress on production performance. The indexes of main hiological stress (airhorne concentrations of aerohic bacteria, fungi and endotoxin)and production performance (carcass traits, appearance and gait scores, and cecal lactobacillus)were measured and analyzed. The results showed that test group had higher airhorne concentrations of aerobic bacteria and fungi than the control (P<0.05),but no significant difference in endotoxin contents (P>0.05).Compared with chickens in control group, average body weight of broilers in test group reduced by 16.5%-19.6%,and significant decreases of cecal lactobacillus (P<0.05)and whole net carcass rate (P<0.05)were both observed. In conclusion, the environmental hiological stress contributed greatly to the chick production performance.
