Current Scenario of Leptospirosis in India

摘要：

　　Since 1994 Leptospirosis has emerged as a major public health problem in west coast of India.Studies in the endemic states revealed that males suffer more frequently from Leptospirosis than females within an age group of 20-30 years because of their occupation.In the urban areas Leptospirosis usually coincides with natural calamity like floods.In the recent past there is change in the clinical presentation of Leptospirosis.There is multi organ involvement with predominant sign of Acute Respiratory Disease Syndrome in manv of the cases.
