EXTENSION TRANSFORMATION METHODOLOGY FOR CONFLICT COORDINATION DRIVEN BY PRODUCT PERFORMANCE ATTRIBUTE
The key factor of modern product design was the product performance that strongly determined the customer satisfaction.Conflicts always happened when taking into account to meet the different performance requirements. To address this issue,a conflict resolution method based on extension transformation was proposed.Specifically,a formal model for conflict resolution was developed by analyzing the relationship among product performance parameters and the mapping module between structure and product performance. And the transformation object based-element was being given. The extension reasoning and based-element operating rules for the transformation object were done. Then the conflict resolution process based on these models was established though resolution style being selected, transformation types being set,and transformation strategy being given. The correlation formula for multiple performance parameters was built that had been taken as a comprehensive evaluation model to evaluate the transformation effectiveness. An oil chainsaw was be used as a case study to demonstrate the feasibility of this method. The results have been verification that it could resolve the conflicts caused by different performance requirements such as chainsaw vibration, stiffness and noise by using the extension transformation theory. This research could be seen as a new method for resolving design conflicts.
