AN INTEGRATED FUZZY METHODOLOGY FOR ECO-DESIGN EVALUATION
Eco-design also known as design for environment has emerged as a competitive strategy for manufacturers to tackle environmental challenges.Eco-design requires taking all the environmental impacts throughout the whole product life cycle into consideration. In this paper,a systematic decision-making methodology for eco-design evaluation is developed. Then, importance weights of life cycle phases and evaluation criteria are achieved based on fuzzy extent analysis.Fuzzy hierarchical TOPSIS is applied to evaluate alternative designs.A case study is carried out to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed methodology. The analysis results show that the proposed integrated fuzzy methodology is a viable approach and can be used as an effective tool for ecodesign evaluation. Finally, conclusions are discussed and future research directions are suggested.
