PROPERTIES OF GREEN ELECTRO-BRUSH PLATING FOR REMANUFACTURE OF HARD CHROME-PLATED WORK-PIECES
As there are many problems existing in the traditional repair of damaged hard chrome plated workpieces,such as complex process,wasting of resources and polluting of environment,two new kinds of coatings are developed for the repair of hard chrome coating in different working conditions,which are n-Al2O3/Ni-Co alloy nano-composite brush coating with better wear resistance and Ni-Co-P amorphous alloy brush coating with better corrosion resistance than hard chrome coating.The hardness,wear resistance and corrosion resistance of these three coatings are also studied.The results show that,the effects of fine grain strengthening and hard phase of nano panicles enhance the hardness and wear resistance of n-Al2O3/Ni-Co nano-composite coating,exceeding the hard chrome coating.The co-deposition of P forms amorphous phase,then becoming nano-crystal after heat treatment,leading to higher hardness of Ni-Co-P coating after heat treatment than the hard chrome coating,and better corrosion resistance than hard chrome coating in neutral and acidic medium.
