GREEN PRODUCT PLATFORM DESIGN BASED ON A CONCURRENT GROUP GENETIC ALGORITHM
Nowadays production of most products (such as household products) is organized in the manner of a product family.Green design methods should be able to apply to product family design.Modular green design methods for a single product have been well developed in the last decades,but few of them can deal with a product family effectively,because products in a family are all connected to each other.Product family needs to be handled as a whole.The aim of this paper is to propose a promising systematic green design method for a product family.The difference between green design of a single and of a product family is discussed,and then a platform-based green design method is proposed,and green platform design method is developed.A case study of a family of fridges is provided to illustrate our methodology.
