A FRAMEWORK OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION MONITORING AND SIMULATION BASED CONTROL FOR DISCRETE MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS
Energy saving and emission reduction requirement make the manufacturing industry face the great pressure resulting from the sustainable development of economy and environment. The energy consumption in product discrete manufacturing process is an important indicator for production carbon footprint evaluation. In order to manage the energy consumption of the discrete manufacturing system, the energy consumption elements in machine, job and system level are analyzed, and the energy saving potential in each level are discussed. An overall framework of energy consumption monitoring, simulation and control for discrete manufacturing system is constructed.Four aspects which include the real time energy data access of manufacturing process, energy consumption modeling and reasoning, production energy consumption simulation and energy saving control of manufacturing system are classified and the methods in each aspect are discussed in detail. The architecture can provide instructions for integrated monitoring, simulation, evaluation and control of discrete manufacturing system with multi-objective including throughput, makespan and energy consumption.
