Westward Propagating Typhoons in the Tropical Western Pacific

Typhoon track forecast in the western North Pacific shows gradual improvement for past 30 years while there is little improvement in the recent several years.Recent studies point out that there are still some cases with erroneous northward bias of a predicted track.Negative contribution of such bad cases to annual-mean forecast error seems to limit the further improvement of track forecast.
