Photocatalytic degradation and kinetics of Methyl orange with Bi-doped TiO2 under simulated sunlight

  Bi-doped TiO2 was prepared with sol-gel method and was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).The photocatalytic degradation and kinetics of Methyl orange with Bi-doped TiO2 under xenon lamp irradiation were investigated.The optimum conditions were as follows:the initial concentration of Methyl orange was 20 mg/L,the value of pH was 3.0 and the dosage ofBi-doped TiO2 was 1.0 g/L.Under the optimal conditions,the decolorization rate of Methyl orange was 75.1% and the kinetic constant was 0.0113 min-1.
