Effect of dynamic strain aging on the mechanical performance in Ti/STS439 clad materials
The effect of dynamic strain aging on the mechanical performance of Ti/STS439 clad material produced by hot rolling process was studied.A reaction layer with the thickness of approximately 3μm was formed during hot roll bonding process. The total elongation to fracture attains minimum values at about 400℃.The decrease of the ductility was accompanied by stress serrations in the stress-strain curves. At 400 ℃,highly ductile and localized fracture with pin-point fracture surface occurred, suggesting the ductility minimum at 400 ℃ is extreme strain localization in the necked region due to low strain rate sensitivity
