Graphite foam encapsulated phase change materials for thermal management of MCM
In this paper, the feasibility of using phase change materials with graphite foam to cooling the MCM was considered.Due to the proper melting temperature and high latent heat, erythritol as an appropriate phase change materials was chosen. Its melting temperature is 118 ℃,latent heat is 339.8 kJ/kg.In order to enhance thermal conductivity of erythritol, graphite foam was considered because of high thermal conductivity.A numerical analysis was performed. The result indicates that, erythritol with graphite foam transfer heat quickly and timely, compared with the pure erythritol. It is a potential composite material to control the temperature of MCM.Different transfer coefficients and a fluctuating power are also considered to improve the feasibility.
