Catalysts pore structure and their performance in low-temperature Claus tail gas treating processes
The effect of pore structures on the catalytic activities was studied in the course of the Claus tail gas treating processes at sub-dewpoint conditions. The distribution of pore size and its effect on the textural properties of the materials were determined by using nitrogen adsorption and mercury porosimetry. The results show that the sulfur capacity ability of the catalysts can be improved by increasing the surface area, the volume and diameter of macropores. The best catalyst had very high macroporosity combining with high microporosity.High volume and smooth channels are contributed to its excellent activity.
