Characteristics of Soil Dissolved Organic Carbon Under Different Land Use Patterns in Liao River Basin, China

Soil dissolved organic carbon (DOC) is defined as the carbon in organic matter existed in soil solution.DOC is the most active component in the biogeochemistry cycling of carbon in soil.It is not only affecting the biological effectives of C,N,S and P,but also is one of the most important factors in the migration of organic and inorganic in soil. And the change of land use patterns can greatly affect the composition and structure of soil organic carbon, and further, affect the exchange features between atmospheric and soil carbon.Field investigation and lab experiments were carried out to study characteristics of DOC.A total of 73 samples of soil were taken in Liao River Basin,China,in May 2011.Six soil types (including brown soil, meadow soil, moisture soil, boggy soil, aeolian sandy soil, paddy soil) and four different land use patterns (including cropland, riceland, forestland and grassland) were conducted in this study.
