Degradation of Azo Dyes by Photosynthetic Bacteria in the Presence of a Novel Redox Mediators
Photosynthetic bacteria(PSB) is widely used in degradation of organic wastewater. However, due to the low oxidation-reduction potential of the azo dyes,PSB can not degrade azo dyes efficiently. In that case a synthesis of a novel riboflavinyl-sulfosalicylic acid-carboxylate ester-iron(Ⅱ) complexes (RF-SA-Fe) was reported. The structures of the RF-SA-Fe was analyzed by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy. The activity and selectivity of the redox catalysts of the electrochemical properties was investigated by the HMDE and cyclic voltammetry method.Due to the presence of the ligand Fe(Ⅱ),the RF-SA-Fe has a larger steric hindrance.
