Reliability of LED driver in consumer LED lamps

  Abstract Due to the long lifetime expectation and being a rather new technology,there is still a big demand for understanding the reliability in LED drivers as one of the major parts of an LED lamp.Each LED driver is constructed from different components and each of them contributes in LED driver thermal and electrical performance.In this paper case study,we measure thermal and electrical performance degradation of LED driver in a commercially available lamp.The characteristics of new and aged samples are investigated which shows higher temperature and higher power dissipation for aged samples.This information are used for predicting the lifetime of the LED driver.
