Analysis of Step-up Stage for LED Backlight Applications
This paper presents the drawbacks of the traditional boost circuits for step-up stage in nowadays LED backlight applications.So high gained boost circuits are needed for not only improving efficiency but also lower the overall cost.Two suitable types are introduced in this paper and it shows that the novel coupled inductor boost converter is a better choice than voltage multiplier circuit for this step-up stage.A novel coupled inductor used in the boost converter can not only lower the cost of MOSFET,but also improve efficiency obviously.The test result confirms the analysis in the paper.
