Characteristics of Articles and Pattern of Citations of the Journals and Their Effect on Impact Factor

　　Citations of articles published by the journals are the prime parameter for evaluation of scientific journals.Volume and types of articles published by the journals also play crucial role in ranking of journals.Impact Factor uses these parameters to evaluation of the scientific journals.The paper attempts to explain the quality and quantity of articles and duration and trends of citations in determirang the Impact Factor of a journal.
