Exploring the Constant of Zipfs Law:Evidence from Abstracts of Bibliometrics-related Research Articles in LISTA
Based on the analysis of word-frequency of abstracts from bibliometrics-related research articles in LISTA,the present study explored the C in Zipfs Law.Findings include that:① the mean,mode or median of the product of word-frequency and their ranks are not the C in Zipfs law.② Zipfs law is perfectly suited for top ranked words:among these words,Fr · r=0.1.And ③ Zipfs law is roughly suited for high ranked words:among these words,C is revolving around 0.1 and fluctuating.
