Evaluation of Journal Subject Stability Based on Ward Hierarchical Clustering Algorithm

　　This paper utilizes the Ward hierarchical clustering algorithm innovatively and introduces a coefficient to study the stability and periodical changes of journal subject.It not only can reveal the overall rule of journal subjects dynamical changes,but also can quickly find the most obvious shifts among subjects.With the experiments of text clustering on JIS,we have analyzed the development process and patterns of JISs subject; identified the characteristics of its subject stability.And the research results can provide systematic tool and procedure for the analyses of subject stability and their trends for journals.
