Bibliometric Analysis on Global Academic Production in Tourism Research--Based on Index of SCI, SSCI and A&HCI from 2002-2011
A bibliometric analysis was applied in this work to evaluate global sdentific production of tourism research papers from 2002 to 2011 in any journal of all the subject categories of SCI,SSCI,A&HCI by Institute for Scientific Information (ISI).Tourism and tourist was used as keywords to search the titles.The published output analysis showed that tourism research steadily increased over the past 10 years and the annual paper production in 2011 was nearly 4 times 2002s paper production.The keyword analysis can clearly reflect the currently global tourism research hot spots and future orientation.Bibliometric methods could quantitatively characterize the development of global scientific production in a specific research field.
