HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE STANDARD-BASED U-HEALTHCARE SYSTEM:IMPLEMENTATION AND CLINICAL TRIAL

The u-Healthcare systems consist of various devices and systems such as personal health devices measuring biosignal, information aggregators gathering bio-signal data from the devices, and health information systems storing and managing health information transmitted from the aggregators. These transmission and exchange of health information is encouraged to be based on international standards such as IEEE 11073 and HL7, but the research on u-Healthcare systems that were developed and applied in the real clinical environment by adopting the standards was rarely conducted. Therefore, we developed an u-Healthcare system based on health information exchange standards. Moreover, we verified the stability of the developed system through clinical trial regarding blood glucose, blood pressure, and body composition targeting the patients with endocrine disorders at the Kyungpook National University Hospital in Korea, attempts to analyze the problems occurred during the test, and suggests improvement methods for the systems.
