A METHOD FOR IMPROVING CLINICAL PROCESSES BY DEVELOPING HOSPITAL CUSTOMIZED CLINICAL GUIDELINES BASED ON ANALYSIS OF CLINICAL DATA USING PATIENT CONDITION ADAPTIVE PATH SYSTEM (PCAPS)
In order to ensure quality assurance in healthcare delivery, we refined a method for improving clinical processes by developing hospital-customized clinical guidelines based on the profile of the hospital and the analysis of retrospective clinical data. Using a tool known as Patient Condition Adaptive Path System (PCAPS), we were able to analyze the relationships between the individual case data and health outcomes from 3P (patient, physician and process) perspectives. Based on the profile of the hospital, we mapped the options for medical intervention and outcomes in terms of the clinical practices, proposed transition logic in clinical processes and developed clinical process indicators. As a result, we were able to develop a set of clinical guidelines in each hospital that are customized according to the availability of resources for the hospital. This enables healthcare professionals to maintain a consistently high level of healthcare delivery.
