A WEB 2.0 BASED HL7 ARDEN SYNTAX MEDICAL LOGICAL MODULE PLATFORM FOR KNOWLEDGE CREATING AND SHARING - THE DEVELOPMENT OF A RULE REPOSITORY FOR SMART HOME CARE
web-based platform for creating and sharing Arden syntax medical logical module (MLM). The second objective is to create a MLM based knowledge repository in the context of smart home care. To develop the decision support platform, web 2.0 technologies are used. To represent the knowledge, HL7 Arden syntax for MLM is used. To build the knowledge repository, a literature review is conducted. The developed platform has been evaluated with the rules found during the literature review. The web 2.0 based platform including a one-pass Arden compiler and an Arden editor for creating and sharing MLM has been implemented. This platform enables users to participate in the interactive MLM development process by the functions like searching, compiling, execution and writing comments. 88 rules in the context of smart home care have been found through a literature review. As a knowledge repository, these rules are filled in form of MLM in the developed platform. For the evaluation, all of these rules are compiled and executed correctly. This knowledge repository in the platform can be easily reused in a local setting. Decision support system (DSS) is effective for improving health care quality and reducing medical cost. The combination of web 2.0 technologies and HL7 Arden syntax is able to deliver easyto- access, interactive and interoperable decision support content.
