DATA REPOSITORY IN PHR STORE FOR MOBILE HEALTH APPLICATIONS
Over the recent years, with the advent of smart mobile devices, mobile health applications have gotten a great deal of attentions. Also the availability of diverse forms of health related data prompted the concept of Personal Health Records (PHRs). In this paper, we introduce the PHR Store that offers interfaces for mobile health applications as well as Electronic Health Reocrds (EHRs). More specifically, we focus on the data repository system for efficient and effective storage, management, and retrieval of various kinds of health data. To accommodate the complexity and diversity of health data, our implementation is based on MongoDB, a NoSQL database management system based on an industry standard data exchange format called BSON. We describe how various queries for mobile health applications can be translated into MongoDB APIs. We also presented some of the early results of the PHR Store.
